Creatures Great & Small

Not one sparrow is forgotten

Scripture & Jesus with us

“God made the wild animals… and God saw that it was good.”

— Genesis 1:24–25

Every creature is a designed gift, not an accident.

“Not one sparrow will fall to the ground outside your Father’s care.”

— Matthew 10:29–31

Jesus uses a tiny bird to say: you are known.

“Ask the animals, and they will teach you… that the hand of the Lord has done this.”

— Job 12:7, 9

Creation is a classroom. Animals preach without words.

Three-class breakdown

Class 1 — Wonder & Observation

Tracks, feathers, pictures, or a short noticing walk. Name one design you see (wings, fur, eyes). Use the animal-tracks handout if you have it.

Class 2 — Scripture & Teaching

Read the sparrow verses. God knows the small ones. We do not crush what He cares for.

Class 3 — Creation Response

Begin a Gentle Steward Journal — one creature noticed each week, one way we can treat it kindly.

Signature take-home

Gentle Steward Journal

  1. Each week notice one creature (ant, bird, lizard, pet).
  2. Draw it. Write one thing God designed carefully.
  3. Do one kind act: water, shade, quiet watching, no chasing.

Parent tips

Take a short walk. Point out design, not fear. “The same God who made this sparrow made you.”

Journal: Creature, date, one thanks.
