Lived in every class

Safety Covenant

Every family deserves to encounter God’s creation in an atmosphere of complete safety — physical, emotional, and spiritual.

Welcome. Jesus is glad you are here. In this space we keep bodies safe, hearts safe, and we remember that God’s creation is a gift we treat with love. You belong here.

Physical safety

  • Clear, well-lit paths. Age-appropriate supervision (about 1 adult to 6 children in class; 1:4 outdoors).
  • A parent or designated adult remains in the building or immediate area.
  • Allergies, medical needs, and sensory notes collected at check-in.
  • First-aid kit and a trained responder on site. Weather briefing before outdoor work.
  • Safe, non-toxic materials only.

Emotional safety

  • Zero shame, zero mocking, zero sarcasm toward any child or adult.
  • Every observation, question, and feeling is welcomed.
  • Leaders model: “I wonder…” “That’s so interesting…” “Tell me more about what you see.”
  • Older children may help younger without taking over.
  • No public correction of parenting. Celebration culture — we name what is good and true.

Spiritual safety

  • Jesus is always the safe, kind, close friend who walks with us.
  • No fear-based teaching. No “God will be angry if…” language.
  • Scripture is read with relational warmth. Children are never pressured to perform faith.
  • Families are invited, never coerced. Prayer is optional and respectful.
  • Leaders notice when a child needs space or another way to join in.

The heart of it

“Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.” — Matthew 19:14

Jesus welcomed children warmly. He was never in a hurry. He never made them feel small. When families walk in, they should meet the same Jesus.

Parents are the primary disciples of their children. God’s Green Acres comes alongside — it does not replace. Speak kindly about God’s world and each other at home. Bring concerns to a facilitator quickly.
