Unit 04 · April
Living Water
The well that does not run dry

Scripture & Jesus with us
“Whoever drinks the water I give them will never thirst.”
— John 4:14Jesus offers living water — Himself — to ordinary people at an ordinary well.
“As the deer pants for streams of water, so my soul pants for you, my God.”
— Psalm 42:1Thirst is honest. Jesus meets thirsty people kindly.
“Let the one who is thirsty come; and let the one who wishes take the free gift of the water of life.”
— Revelation 22:17The invitation is open. Families may come.
Three-class breakdown
Class 1 — Wonder & Observation
Listen to water. Look at a bowl, a pitcher, a leaf holding rain. “Where does water go? What would a plant do without it?”
Class 2 — Scripture & Teaching
Tell the woman at the well. Jesus crosses lines to offer living water. Object lesson: a dry sponge and a wet sponge.
Class 3 — Creation Response
Launch the Living Water Bottle Garden — a recycled bottle greenhouse that waters a small plant from below.
Signature take-home
Living Water Bottle Garden
- Cut or use a clear bottle with a lid.
- Add soil and a small plant or seed.
- Water once, close, and watch the water cycle inside.
- Talk about how Jesus keeps giving life we cannot store up ourselves.
Parent tips
When you water any plant this month, pause and say John 4:14. Notice thirst — in plants and in people — with kindness.
Journal: Draw the water cycle in the bottle. One prayer for someone who is thirsty in spirit.
